Successful hires will expand the group's efforts applying machine learning to drug discovery, biomolecular simulation, and biophysics. The expected annual base salary for this position is USD 300,000 - USD 800,000. Our compensation package also includes variable compensation in the form of sign-on and year-end bonuses, and generous benefits, including relocation and immigration assistance. The applicable annual base salary paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors including the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background. We follow a hybrid work schedule, in which employees work from the office on Tuesday through Thursday, and have the option of working from home on Monday and Friday.

Stellenbosch University, South Africa


The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) has a 2-year postdoctoral position available in the area of machine learning for wildlife monitoring and conservation. The project will look at:

zero-shot capabilities of foundation models on challenging real-world datasets typical in African wildlife and environment monitoring (e.g., camera trap imagery);

few-shot learning and generative modelling to deal with these large, unlabelled, long-tailed, noisy image sets.

Applicants must have obtained a PhD degree within the last 4 years, in a field related to the project's themes. The fellowship must commence by 1 March 2026 (preferably sooner).

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll push the frontier of visual generative models. You’ll work on large-scale pre-training for our text-to-image foundation models, shaping objectives, algorithms, data, and systems, and turn novel ideas into models that power products used by millions of users. You'll work with a creative and ambitious team of researchers and engineers who are building the future of the creative economy.

What We're Looking For

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in AI research, including training, fine-tuning, and experimenting with foundation models beyond black-box use.

  • Track record of first-author publications at top-tier AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ACL, EMNLP).

  • Strong proficiency in one or more deep learning frameworks (e.g., JAX, PyTorch).

  • Experience communicating complex research to peers.

  • Solid knowledge of programming languages and experience in developing, debugging, and optimizing beyond ML systems.

Open positions in Mathematical, Statistical and Computational aspects of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The Faculty of Mathematics and the Institute for Mathematical and Computational Engineering (IMC) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) are offering up to two full-time professor positions at the assistant or associate level. The successful candidate will have a joint appointment between the Faculty of Mathematics and the IMC. We welcome applications from highly qualified candidates with a track record of excellent research and a solid commitment to excellence in teaching and supervision. This position is intended for those researchers interested in advancing the mathematical, statistical and computational aspects of modern artificial intelligence, machine learning and its applications. Candidates conducting research in areas including pure and computational mathematics, mathematical modeling, statistics, optimization, and theoretical computer science, that exhibit a convincing path towards AI research are also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching courses at the Institute for Mathematical and Computational Engineering and the Faculty of Mathematics. The typical teaching load is three semester-long courses a year, at the graduate or undergraduate level, split between the two academic units. Command of Spanish is not required for applying; however, the selected candidate is expected to start teaching in Spanish in at most two years. Applicants who do not speak Spanish will receive support from the University to learn the language adequately. To support the initial academic career stages, the incorporation of Assistant Professors can benefit from an initial reduction of the teaching load and a starting fund. Research Engineer - Novel AI applications and Next Generation Hardware

Mission: You will join the hardware team with the goal of supporting novel application areas and AI modes beyond current use cases. Responsibilities include researching the evolving landscape of AI applications and models, analyzing underlying model architectures, and building implementations on Groq. Further responsibilities include analyzing mappings to existing and future hardware, modeling performance, and working cross-functionally with the hardware design team on novel hardware features e.g. functional units, numeric modes, interconnect, system integration, etc to unlock novel application areas for Groq. There will be opportunities to participate in a wider range of R&D activities, either internally or externally with key Groq partners.

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, salary range is determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks.
