In this talk I will discuss two methods that we have recently developed that allow for better understanding of tables. First, I will discuss OmniTab, a method for learning to represent tables using text- and table-based pre-training. Second, I will discuss a method for data augmentation that makes it possible to create pseudo-supervised training data for new database schemas.
