Abstract:

The intersection of Telugu language and generative AI presents both promise and challenge. In Telugu, generative AI offers automation of content creation and translation, streamlining communication and cultural preservation. However, accuracy and cultural nuances remain problematic. The translations often lack depth, struggling with idiomatic expressions and regional variations, leading to potential misinterpretations. To enhance its utility, generative AI must prioritize accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Addressing these concerns necessitates a more profound understanding of Telugu's linguistic diversity, encompassing dialects and social contexts. Incorporating local knowledge and traditions into training data can significantly augment performance. This call for feedback offers an opportunity to bridge these gaps collaboratively, uniting AI developers and Telugu speakers to ensure generative AI's effective and respectful contribution to the richness of the Telugu language.
