What, No Skiing?
For the first time in NIPS history, no NIPS sessions are located at a ski resort. This was largely due to logistics reasons - as NIPS has grown it has become increasingly difficult to find a ski resort that can accommodate our group and also be near major transportation hubs, etc.
As we are in Montreal this year please still pack for cold weather, but note the Montreal Underground:

For shelter from winter conditions, Montreal has a vast underground of interconnecting tunnels. It is feasible to travel extensively through the city and never step foot outside.
The NIPS hotels Intercontinental, Hyatt, Westin, and are all directly connected to the underground.
Dauphin and Travelodge are not directly connected, but the Dauphin is directly across the street from the conference center and the Travelodge is across the street from an underground entrance.
