The NIPS 2004 Post-Conference Workshops will be held at The Westin Resort & Spa which is located at 4090 Whistler Way at the base of Whistler Mountain. It is adjacent to both the Blackcomb and Whistler gondolas that take skiers, snowboarders, and hikers to the top of the mountain. 

Accommodations at the Westin Resort & Spa and the Cascade Lodge

are no longer available.

Hyatt Regency Vancouver (Conference and Tutorials)

The Hyatt Regency Vancouver is located in downtown Vancouver, overlooking a mountain-rimmed harbor. For accomodations at the Hyatt Regency contact:

Maximum room occupancy is four persons. One night's room and tax pre-payment is needed to guarantee room reservations.  All deposits for individual room reservations are fully refundable if a room is cancelled seven days or more prior to the arrival date.  An early departure fee of one night's room and tax will be assessed if hotel is given less than 24-hours notice. Rooms are still available at the special NIPS 2004 rate.

The Westin Resort & Spa -- Site of the Post-Conference Workshops

The Westin Resort & Spa is located at 4090 Whistler Way at the base of Whistler Mountain. It is adjacent to both the Blackcomb and Whistler gondolas that take skiers, snowboarders, and hikers to the top of the mountain.

For larger groups, it is possible to arrange for adjoining rooms, with linking doors.  Please make these arrangements when registering.

If you plan to make a reservation with The Westin Resort & Spa and plan to share your suite with another NIPS participant, you will be required to register that name with the hotel through reservations@westinwhistler.com, on-line at NIPS 2004, or alternately at 1-888-634-5577.  This will eliminate any unnecessary delays during the check-in process.  For security reasons, any persons arriving at the hotel not accompanied by the registered occupant and/or who are not registered as guests, will not be permitted access to guest rooms.

If using the scheduled buses between the Hyatt Regency Vancouver and The Westin Resort & Spa please note that upon disembarking passengers at the front door of the hotel, the buses will be moving to an alternate entrance to unload the bags, therefore, you must take with you any carry-on luggage that you will need immediately upon arrival at the hotel.

Please note that following hotel rates are listed in Canadian dollars, the final conversion rate will be determined on the date of payment.   Local taxes of 17% will be added to all quoted hotel rates.

Reservations:  NIPS 2004

Rates at the Westin Resort & Spa are per night for single or double occupancy. There will be an additional charge of $30 CAD for each additional person.  Rooms will be held for NIPS 2004 participants at the special rate until November 16, 2004.  After that date, reservations will not be accepted.  There is no refund for early checkouts, late check-ins, or no-shows. A deposit equal to one nights stay will hold each reservation. Full prepayment will be due 30 days prior to arrival and is not refundable. Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival are not refundable.

A mandatory resort fee of $15 CAD per room, per night will be charged. The fee will afford unlimited use of the spa and health club and fitness center, unlimited local phone calls, ski valet service, ski/snowboard storage and local shuttle service in and around Whistler Village. Please note that the Westin Resort & Spa is a non-smoking facility. If you would like a room with a balcony for the purpose of smoking, this must be requested at the time of making the reservation.
